September 28, 2019 was a crisp chilly day with a light sprinkle of snow (as if dusting a chocolate cake with icing sugar) + a cold breeze that graced the city of Calgary. I arrived at the ladies location which was the Brides parents home. I was warmly welcomed + everyone was so kind and helpful. The ladies were getting hair + makeup done when I arrived. The talented Stella Chio did their hair and Mylynn + Trish were the MUA team! I started my day as usual with some wedding details + then floated around the beauty zone. The ladies popped some bubbly (a bottle from Intrigue wines in Lake Country, BC) Once Claires hair + make-up were done, she (with Moms help) got dressed into her custom gown made by NRT Fashions. She looked absolutely incredible. When I asked Claire (during our timeline prep before the wedding) if she wanted to have a first look with anyone, she picked her Grandma. That melted my heart!! Once they had their special moment together, we brought in Peyton (her new daughter and one of the cutest/kindest little ladies I have ever had the pleasure of meeting!) We also did one with her girls + MIL because why not!! We had the time + no one else had seen her yet! What a beautiful morning it was!! Time to head over for another first look with her soon to be husband James!!

We all got ready to go, bundle up and the ladies hopped in the Limo (AM/PM Limo services) where we then drove to Bowness Park. Seasons of Bowness has a really cute patio/dock area, so that's where they had their first look. Together, with the Community Productions videography team, we let them have their moment. It was amazing. It was everything a first look should be. Ok maybe a TAD warmer would have be nice....but aside from that, just perfect.

Afterwards, we all headed into the park for Bridal Portraits. Claire + James brought smoke bombs for some photos. I've never photographed these before so I didn't know what to expect (aside from all the youtube videos I watched and the what not to do/be careful advice with wind/heat etc!) It was entertaining to say the least - I am definitely a fan of the white because it creates a fog like mood! Special thank you to KERRY (my helper + second shooter for the day) for helping out! After we finished photos, it was time for these two to get hitched!!!

Claire + James exchanged vows at The Baron, a modern industrial event venue. Inspired by the New York Meatpacking District's modern industrial atmosphere, this space provides a unique backdrop for a stylish wedding! After an emotional and heartfelt ceremony, their guests headed to the other side of the venue for cocktails before the reception, while we stayed back + shot some family portraits inside due to Calgarys weather habits!

The reception looked absolutely incredible! Kelsey with White Copper Weddings executed the day-of coordination seamlessly. The cake by Ruffles and Lace Cakes was so pretty, a piece of art! The Dance floor was a lot of fun (especially the performance by the couples friend - HILARIOUS) + great tunes played by DJ Jose!!

Congratulations Claire & James! I had so much fun celebrating with you!!!
